The title win also secured Farul Constanța a coveted spot in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, where they will represent Romania next season.

Both Awuor and Mango are products of Kenya’s record FKF Women’s Premier League champions, Vihiga Queens, who have won four league titles. Lilian Awuor, in particular, has had a stellar season, having already been named the best goalkeeper of the Superliga regular season after keeping nine clean sheets in 14 matches. The shot-stopper, who previously played for ASJ Soyaux and Olympique de Valence in France, has been instrumental to Farul’s defensive strength.

Enez Mango, who captained Vihiga Queens before moving to Romania in 2022, has equally shone in her role at left-back. Her consistency have been key in Farul’s back-to-back successes.

The Romanian Women’s Superliga features a unique format: eight teams compete in a double round-robin regular season before splitting into playoff rounds. The top four teams—Farul Constanța, Csikszereda M. Ciuc W, Olimpia Cluj, and Gloria 2018 Bistrița—contested the Championship playoff, with Farul winning five out of six matches and drawing one, a run of form that set the tone for their title defense.

Farul Constanța’s season is not over yet. They are currently topping Group A of the Romanian Women’s Cup with six points after two matches and will face second-placed Csikszereda M. Ciuc W again on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in a crucial encounter.

With their eyes now set on cup glory and European adventures ahead, Lilian Awuor and Enez Mango continue to fly the Kenyan flag high in Romania.
