Silvester Mandela Amimo, the son of renowned Kenyan journalist Patrick Amimo, is making waves in Nakuru as he dazzles fans and scouts alike at the sixth edition of the Rausha Kipaji Cup — one of the country’s most exciting grassroots football tournaments.

Held over the Easter weekend at Nakuru Boys’ and Nakuru Girls’ High Schools, the four-day football extravaganza (April 17–20) has attracted over 100 private academies from across Kenya. Teams are competing in six age categories — U7, U9, U11, U13, U17, and U20 — in what has become a major showcase of raw talent and youthful passion for the beautiful game.

Dreams Soccer Academy, based in Donholm, Nairobi, has fielded teams in four divisions — U9, U11, U13, and U17. Their U11 side, with Silvester as a standout performer, has emerged as one of the most exciting teams to watch.

With a record 48 teams battling it out in the Under 11 category alone, the Rausha Kipaji Cup continues to live up to its name — which translates to “ignite talent.” Now in its sixth edition, the tournament has firmly established itself as a breeding ground for future football stars, offering scouts and fans a front-row seat to Kenya’s next generation of talent.
