Kibera Soccer Women’s prolific forward Faith Mboya has been included in the Harambee Starlets’ traveling squad for the upcoming FIFA Window international friendlies against Ivory Coast. Kenya will face the West African side in two matches at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny in Abidjan on Friday, April 4, 2025, and Tuesday, April 8, 2025. Both games are set to kick off at 7 PM local time (10 PM East African Time) under the floodlights.

Mboya has been a revelation this season, showcasing her goal-scoring prowess across two divisions. She began the campaign at FKF Women’s National Super League side Sunderland Samba, where she netted an impressive 15 goals in just half a season before making a mid-season switch to Kibera Soccer Women in the top flight. Despite joining late, she has already scored 10 goals and sits just three behind the league’s top scorer, a remarkable feat considering her competitors have played since the start of the season.

This is not Mboya’s first brush with the national team setup. She was named in the provisional squad for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers against Tunisia but missed out on the final selection. With this latest call-up, she will be eager to make her highly anticipated debut for the Starlets.

The upcoming friendlies will serve as vital preparations for Kenya’s crucial WAFCON qualifier final round against The Gambia. Meanwhile, Ivory Coast, who were exempt from the first round due to their top-seeded status, will use the matches to fine-tune their squad ahead of their own final qualification round against Senegal in October.

As Mboya joins the national team camp, Kenyan fans will be eager to see if the in-form striker can translate her club heroics onto the international stage and bolster the Starlets’ attacking options.
