Harambee Starlets and Simba Queens midfielder Vivian Corazon Aquino has secured a major career boost after signing with one of the world’s leading women’s football agencies, TMJ (The Management Journey).
The agency, renowned for its exclusive focus on women’s football, has also signed three other top players from the Tanzanian Women’s Premier League. These include the league’s leading goal scorer and JKT striker Situmai Abdallah, Simba Queens striker Aisha Mnunka, and Burundi national team captain and Simba Queens midfielder Asha Djafar.
Founded in 2014 by Mexicans Guillermo Zamarripa and Oscar Gonzalez, TMJ aims to revolutionize women’s football representation by pushing the boundaries of athlete management. The fully remote agency has staff across Spain, Mexico, Texas, California, Chicago, and Arizona, ensuring a global reach for its clients.
TMJ boasts an impressive roster of world-class players, including Chelsea’s Mia Fishel, 2017 FIFA The Best nominee Deyna Castellanos, Zambia’s Rachel Kundanaji, and Nigeria’s Michelle Alozie among others. Kundanaji, for some time, held the record for the most expensive transfer in women’s football history. Charlyn Corral became the first Latin American player to win a Pichichi in Spain, earning the title as the league’s top scorer while playing for Levante. María Sánchez made history with the highest-paid contract in NWSL history, while Angola’s Marta Lacho has just joined NWSL club KC Current after leading TP Mazembe in winning the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Beyond player representation, TMJ offers services such as sponsorships, brand ambassadorships, athlete-driven projects and investments, women’s football consulting, and multimedia marketing. The agency has facilitated landmark deals, such as Deyna Castellanos becoming the first Latin American women’s football player to sign with Nike Global and Norma Palafox signing a global TV commercial deal with Samsung. Additionally, Kimmi Ascanio became the youngest player ever to sign a deal with PUMA, and Mexican star Charlyn Corral has maintained a long-term sponsorship deal with Adidas.
TMJ also runs a Sports & Education Foundation aimed at creating pathways for young female athletes to attain higher education and build professional football careers.
The agency is operated by five FIFA license holders, including its co-founders Zamarripa and Gonzalez, who oversee operations in North America, Latin America, and Europe. Chris Atkins covers Africa and Asia, while Mariajosé Cambranis and Rocío-García Calabrés manage Latin American and European affairs, respectively.
With her signing, Vivian Corazon Aquino joins an elite group of players benefiting from TMJ’s expertise, positioning her for greater opportunities on and off the pitch.
